There is something extra special about designing a forever home from the ground up. A new build requires collaboration not only with my clients but also architects and builders to create their perfect retirement home.
The clients moved from the bustling suburbs of Atlanta to a dreamy piece of property in North Georgia. The design of the house was inspired by southern living: family gathering, grandchildren visiting, and spending just as much time outdoors as inside.
Beautiful meets practical with an additional Master Suite which was specifically designed to care for elderly parents if ever needed. This Modern Farmhouse combines sleek lines of contemporary design with a classic touch of home. Together, they give the home a simple yet stunning character.
The use of natural elements such as rustic timbers, iron, and galvanized steel ground the home in earthy warmth while bright colors and textures layer on the charm. All bathrooms were designed with clean lines. The absence of color brings a presence of sophisticated calm through black, white, and gray tiles. Upstairs, we built a room for grandchildren and cousins. This room will hold countless memories of game nights, movie previews, and slumber parties.
The basement includes a large workshop where the homeowner, who is a talented carpenter, creates and builds custom cabinetry. The large front porch adorned with a beautiful navy door welcomes guests into the home.
A lovely outdoor terrace with a pool and fireplace is a perfect place to entertain during the long days of summer or the crisp nights of fall.
